Yay to longer daylight! Which means that we can finally grill “proper” on our balcony. It is not exactly “spring” here in Germany but warm enough (9 degrees) to stand out in the balcony to grill some MEAT. This was inspired by some instagram photo the Husband saw. Bun less burger. Yes. No Carbs. Just the juicy meat.
Well okay I lied. The husband fired the grill almost a month ago when it is still wintery in Germany.
Here was what happened.
Husband at 6.30pm one month ago: “I just bought a grill. Buy some meat we are having burgers tonight.”
We were home together at 7.30pm. Took slightly less than an hour to assemble the grill. Had our first burger at 9pm for dinner.
This is a really simple recipe. Simply season with salt and pepper like how we alway season our burgers. To assemble we used avocados and some salad. A suggestion would be guacamole, so that its easier to eat. Then again this burger will definitely “dirty” your hands because there isn’t any buns to absorb the juice from the burger. You will feel the warm beef juice sliding down your hands but its all worth it. Trust me!

Makes 6 thin patties – 3 bun-less burgers
500g minced beef
salt
pepper
1 avocado
Juice of half a lemon
handful of salad
olive oil
Sriracha
Preheat grill to 270 degree C (518 degree f).
Portion minced beef into 6 equally thin patties. Season with salt and pepper. Place patties on the grill and grill for about 3-4 mins. Flip patties over and grill for another 3-4mins. Patties will be medium well.
Slice avocado and drizzle lightly with some of the lemon juice.
Prepare the salad by seasoning it with lemon juice, olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
