Sometimes classic food like a BLT Sandwich needs a small upgrade like a fried egg to make it even better. One evening The Wife asked me what we should eat and was a bit lazy to cook something fancy. Since I really like bread I wanted to eat a sandwich but something that really satisfies you once you bite it. So I decided to make a BLT Sandwich with home improved mayonnaise and a fried egg.

So what is the one key ingredient that should not be forgotten? Of course it is bacon. Making it really crispy but not burning it is the key to success here. The ONLY way to make CRISPY BACON is to put it in the oven for about 10 minutes on 180°C. Don’t forget to leave them on a kitchen towel once you take them out.

So we got the first thing done. The Bacon! Now lets just have a look at all the other ingredients that go in here.

– Bacon
– Fried egg
– Salad
– Cherry Tomatoes cut in half
– Wholemeal Bread
– Home Improved Mayonnaise

Bacon Lettuce Tomato Sandwich How do make the Sandwich? Well it is actually very simple and you can just make everything in a couple of minutes and at the same time have a well balanced meal including protein, fat and carbs.

Start with the Mayonnaise. You could even make that from scratch but it would take a while and so we settled for a light mayonnaise from the supermarket. To make it tastier, take one cup of mayonnaise and add one teaspoon of garlic powder, one teaspoon of smoked paprika and a pinch of pepper to it. Sounds simply right? Well it just tastes delicious. Then toast the bread to your liking (we prefer it slightly browned). Spread the mayonnaise on the bottom side of the bread. Don’t be stingy on it :) Then add the salad mixed with the cherry tomatoes and place the fried egg on top. Now to make it perfect just add the bacon and you are good to go.

Just look at the beautiful result and I am sure you will feel hungry. By the way it is good for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. And maybe high tea if you like it savory.Sandwich recipe
