This is an oldie but a goodie. It is really hard not to like them. A cake where the fresh strawberries are laid on the cake batter and during the baking process the batter will bake over the strawberries revealing hints of red strawberries peaking through the cake. Taste both amazing and visually pleasing.
The first time I baked this was almost 3 years ago and since then I have been using the same recipe every time strawberries are in season. This taste so good that I do not think there is a better cake/ dessert recipe if you want to make use of fresh strawberries. Nothing celebrates the change in season more than this cake. It has almost become a symbol that spring is coming to an end and summer is coming.
